Privacy Policy

Short version: Your files never leave your device. Tool inputs are processed in your browser using JavaScript. The only exception is the contact form, which sends your message through our form provider (Formspree).

1. Core Principle

ToolNest tools run entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. When you convert a PDF, compress an image, generate a password, or hash text — that work happens on your device. Your files are never uploaded to our servers.

2. What We Don't Collect

  • No file uploads. We never receive your images, PDFs, or documents.
  • No account data. We don't require signup and don't store user accounts.
  • No input tracking. Text you type into our tools is not logged or transmitted.

3. Local Storage

Some tools use your browser's localStorage to remember preferences (theme, recent tools) and to auto-save content (the Online Notepad). This data stays on your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

4. Contact Form

When you submit the contact form, your name, email, subject, and message are sent to Formspree (our form processing service) and forwarded to our email. This is the only place where we receive any personal information you choose to provide.

5. Analytics & Advertising

We may use privacy-friendly analytics (no personal identifiers) and display ads through Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to serve personalized ads. You can opt out at Google Ad Settings.

6. Third-Party Libraries

Some tools use open-source libraries loaded from trusted CDNs: qrcodejs, jsPDF, blueimp-md5, marked, DOMPurify, pdf.js, pdf-lib. These execute in your browser and do not upload your data.

7. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Because we don't collect personal data through tools, there is nothing to delete or export. If you've submitted the contact form and want your message removed, email us.

8. Children's Privacy

ToolNest is not directed at children under 13.

9. Changes

If we update this policy, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top.

Our Story

ToolNest was built in 2026 by a small team who were tired of bloated utility sites. What started as a personal collection of scripts became a full suite of nineteen tools — and the list keeps growing. Built in Osaka, Japan.
